Sabah Society for the Blind

Sabah Society for the Blind (SSB) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering blind and visually impaired individuals across Sabah through education, rehabilitation, advocacy, skills development, and community support. Established in 1966, the organisation works to promote independence, dignity, and equal opportunities by providing services that enable people with visual impairments to participate fully in society.

SSB delivers a wide range of programmes designed to improve quality of life and foster inclusion. These include Braille literacy, orientation and mobility training, independent living skills, vocational training, assistive technology support, educational assistance, employment readiness, and community outreach. Through these initiatives, the organisation helps individuals build confidence, develop practical skills, and achieve greater independence.

Beyond direct services, Sabah Society for the Blind actively advocates for accessibility, disability rights, and the inclusion of people with visual impairments in education, employment, public services, and community life.
